Climate protection
Our goal is to continuously reduce climate-relevant emissions. In the long term, we aim to operate in a carbon-neutral manner.
According to Germany’s Federal Climate Protection Act, greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by at least 65% by 2030 and by 88% by 2040 compared to the base year of 1990. According to data from the Federal Environment Agency, German greenhouse gas emissions in 2023 were approximately 46% below 1990 levels.
Using 2023 as the baseline, we aim to reduce our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 in line with Germany’s climate protection targets. In the long term, we also intend to incorporate significant Scope 3 emissions into our decarbonization strategy.
We are already implementing the following measures, among others:
- 100% renewable electricity at our company location
- Expansion of our electric vehicle fleet (currently, 50% of all vehicles are fully electric and 20% are plug-in hybrids)
- Work-from-home options and job tickets
- Server virtualization
- Retrofitting of existing systems and equipment
- Remote maintenance to avoid unnecessary travel
