RST Gateway
The cRIO RST Gateway is an AddOn component to the remote Server Toolkit, which allows to initially configure the CompactRIO system or to initiate data transfer via remote command. The USB adapter with additional cRIO Gxxx, GSM, or GPS module allows to run the SEA cRIO Mobile modules independently from a CompactRIO chassis.
Via the gateway SMS messages can be sent or received with LabVIEW e.g. to transfer error or status messages from automatic measurement systems or test beds to mobile network attendants.

cRIO RST Remote Server Toolkit
CompactRIO systems are often used for automatic measurements or to control remote systems. Often no network access is available - e. g. in wind energy plants, data acquisition systems in cars, trains, busses or for monitoring systems for bridges or builing charges.
Using the SEA cRIO Mobile Modules remote access to such applications by public networks is available.
Often the transfer of special alarms or commands to the remote system by SMS are adequate. But sometimes it is required to transfer large files - e.g. measurement data - to a server or to control distributed CompactRIO systems. The automation of these processes can be performed by the cRIO RST Remote Server Toolkit.
Data transfer between clients is done by a server, which guarantees encrypted transfer at defined time stamps. The remote system automatically connects to the server and gets status information or measurement data. Data is stored on the central server.
If the remote system has GPS function, GPS tracking data can also be processed.
Function
The picture illustrates the function of the cRIO RST Toolkit. The Toolkit consists of two software components:
- One is installed respectively on each CompactRIO system by including it into the LabVIEW RT project.
- The second component is installed on a Windows PC. This PC has to have Internet access.
